Name: Freya Urbano
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Height: 5’3”
Code: FU-5150
Department: Forensics and Research
Specialty:
Cinematography
Although hardly on a movie set, Freya specializes in gathering a great amount of information using the numerous recording devices she owns. With a steady hand even in the most frightening of situations and usually armed with more than one recording device, there’s a good chance that Freya will take some footage of whatever situation that provides good material for blackmail research. When she’s not using this for her research, she’s usually taking random cat videos or videos of her numerous Venus Fly Traps.

Strengths:
:bulletgreen: There isn’t a lot that scares her. In fact, she enjoys being scared most of the time. As long as it’s not by the King of Hell she still has nightmares of that thing.
:bulletgreen: She’s able to communicate with many of the undead and has gathered a list of them as “friends” of hers. Most of the time, this relationship is one-sided (on their parts).
:bulletgreen: Bilingual (English and Portuguese).

:bulletgreen: Loyal and a hard worker when it comes to getting down to business.

Weaknesses:
:bulletred: Lacks in the height department and although she knows how to fight her chances of winning lessen when the opponent is quite larger, taller, or stronger than her.
:bulletred: Can be quick to choose violence as a means of actions when things start to look bad.
:bulletred: Her sensitivity to the spirits that she is able to communicate with can at times lead her to become disoriented and a far more likely subject for possession.
:bulletred: She dislikes being called crazy because of her ability to communicate with spirits. It definitely gets under her skin.

Skills: (Leave blank for starters!)

Personality:
Shy when it comes to meeting new people, many might wish Freya’s timidity would last longer and not make way to the brash, stubborn, sarcastic, and very odd and unconventional person she really is. Unyielding when it comes to certain pressures and sticking very firm to her beliefs and morals (which may be a bad thing considering her morals) can sometimes cause her to butt heads with others. Fortunately, she is a very hard worker and sports an undying loyalty to those who gain her trust or to specific causes. More than a little rough around the edges, Freya sports a permanent scowl that doesn’t seem to falter; however, don’t let that unnerve you too much it seems that she was born with chronic Bitch Face. Luckily, she is capable of cracking jokes at her own or at others expenses and enjoys many things such as chocolate, sweets, rock operas, roses, dead flowers, and, most importantly, a collection of Venus Fly Traps, painted skulls, and bear ornaments.

Bio:
At birth, it seemed that the world didn’t quite want Freya in it when she possessed little vital signs and doctors reported that there was an unlikelihood of her living passed the night. Obviously things turned out well but Mr. and Mrs. Urbano had to wait a good month before they were able to take their newborn daughter home. Once home they showered her with love and pampered her with many things that a couple would give their first child. This was made easier as the Urbanos had a comfortable upper-middle class life. Unfortunately, throughout her childhood Freya would remember her mother taking numerous “vacations”.

Freya, in the beginning of her life, wasn't a very talkative girl, but as she began to catch up with others her age, she had a quirk about what and who she would babble to. This would have been fine to Mr. Urbano, had Freya not have long conversations with empty spaces in certain rooms of the family’s old Colonial. This quirk became even more puzzling when, after Freya’s paternal grandmother died in the house, she reported seeing her grandmother for weeks on end. Luckily, within her childhood at least, Freya would meet many simple and kind spirits. Her mother wasn’t as lucky as she once bore witness to a malicious and agitated spirit swiping its claw along her mother’s back before disappearing. This attack was the first time that her mother would allow Freya to know that she too could hear and see things and the first time that her mother would tell her that her “vacations” were visits to hospitals because everyone had since thought of her as crazy.

Unfortunately, her parents would divorce when she was 6 through “unresolved differences” and her father would take full custody of her. Freya would soon stop telling her father about the ghosts and spirits she saw and felt that risking being thought of as crazy wasn’t worth it. Silence seemed golden as ghost and spirit sightings would become infrequent, rare, and then stop altogether. Freya believed that, perhaps, the ghosts were only present because of her mother or just maybe she had outgrown them. She would continue to believe in them, in secret.
The year before Freya went to college, her father died of emphysema and she moved to Louisiana to be closer to her mother who had since joined a small business. It was one of the best and worst decisions of her life as she felt she could rebuild her connection with the paranormal without feeling judged. While going to school, Freya became involved in a business of fortune tellers, tarot readers, palm readers, mediums, and others. Some were firm believers despite never seeing much of anything while others would make themselves vulnerable for “possession”.

Taking part of a film club while attending college, she would make connections with those who enjoyed sci-fi and the paranormal and together they had a comedy and sci-fi genre show airing on the college’s network for 4 semesters. After graduating, the show was cancelled.

Meanwhile, at the Black Cat, the pay seemed good enough, and she soon became a master of bullshitting people and telling them what she thought they wanted to hear. Fortunately, lying became easier, over a four year period when she began noticing some spirits accompanying people. Whenever there was a spirit present, it usually took the form of a small light or just a voice that was accompanied with static. Unfortunately, with some of her clients who reported hearing voices, there may have been no spirit present and so it was up to her to try and convince them to see a shrink. Although, over the years, pay became greater, Freya disliked what she felt were counseling sessions between the dead and undead. Noticing the dissatisfaction that she was experiencing, her mother as worried momma's would do asked her medium friends for advice. She had a feeling that Freya could use her abilities for something more than conning helping people but she wasn't sure what. One of her mother's friends would later approach her about LiteTower, a company his highly successful scientist son had been approached by although he had decided to refuse the offer. Although Freya had suspected that one had to have a little more qualification than she did, she took it upon herself to visit the organization one day. Upon figuring out that it was a paranormal investigation organization she hesitated, unsure whether or not she wanted to continue dealing with entities. Instead, she returned home for another week before she returned with more certainty that she did want to work with the organization. After being interviewed, investigated to make sure she was good for the job, and with a sprinkle of dumb luck, she was hired as part of Forensics and Research.

She spent a few months at the agency living her regular day-to-day job with nothing too unusual, in her opinion, occurring. That was until the Lockdown occurred and everything seemed to temporarily go to hell. Although, she escaped with fewer injuries than others, it took her several months to stop having nightmares of the King of Hell. While out of commission as an agent, Freya returned to New Orleans to work for her mother and took some classes at a university to assist her in forensics and research work.

:bulletyellow: One sure way of getting her worked up is calling her a liar, crazy, or not believing what she says. It’s mostly due to the stigmatization that she felt her mother experienced when her father didn’t believe her “ghost tales”.
